Lindsay and Brandon were married at The Rail in Sherman, Illinois. They had a beautiful fall day for their ceremony on the golf course, with their reception following in the on-site tent.
As guests arrived, I played popular songs, including “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran, “Amazed” by Lonestar, “Landslide” by Stevie Nicks, and “One Call Away” by Charlie Puth. Not quite the type of music you’d expect to hear on the harp, but that’s exactly my specialty! I love surprising people with the contemporary music I can play on a classic instrument.
The wedding party entered to “Everything I Do, I Do it for You” by Bryan Adams, and Lindsay’s processional was “A Thousand Years” from Twilight. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds exited to the bride’s special request, “Stuck Like Glue” by Sugarland.
Through the receiving line, I continued to play popular music, such as “Time of Your Life” by Green Day, “Collide” by Howie Day, and “Love Story” by Taylor Swift.
Not a single piece of classical or traditional music in sight at this wedding! And that’s exactly how the bride and groom wanted it. Your wedding music should be music you like, and that doesn’t necessarily mean the wedding “classics.” The music for each wedding ceremony I play is customized by the couple, and can be anything they want it to be, from rock ballads to Debussy.
I play for weddings in Springfield and throughout Central Illinois. Please visit my website ~ Springfield IL Wedding Music ~ to inquire for availability and a quote!
